Measuring just 48 square miles, the city of San Francisco is famous for its scenic beauty, cultural attractions, diverse communities and world class cuisine.  The city's streets have intriging neighborhoods to explore at every turn and this rental option also allows you to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge!

If you decide to explore the City by the Bay on your own by bicycle, this rental arms you with everything you need for your adventure!  You'll be outfitted with a Cannongate bike, a helmet, full color coded map with key attractions, baskets or bike bags, and bike locks.

The staff will also be happy to suggest an interesting and memorable route around the city's many trendy and historic neighborhoods.  Dotted with landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Union Square, North Beach, the Castro District and Mission Dolores, there's much to see and do!  Views of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay are often laced with fog, creating a romantic mood in the most European of American cities.

You'll be outfitted with all you need for your adventure - an excellent Cannondale bike, helmet, map, bike bag or basket, and a bike lock - all included in the rental price.  Pricing options are for 2 hours, 4 hours or a DayPass.  Options are available for including standard bike attachments to bring along infants, toddlers and young children. Return your bikes to the pick-up location by the end of your rental period.

2 hours, 4 hours or DayPass until office closing time
Rentals are available to begin daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (April through October) or 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (November through March) - based on the validity period you order
Times on availability calendar are estimated for your pick-up - you may begin your rental at a time of your choosing during office hours.

There is a $6.95 USD processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order. There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown at checkout includes any fuel surcharges, service charges and tax. There are no additional charges, unless otherwise specified.

Tour / Activity Policies

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

COVID-19 Protocol Updates

  • All staff and guests entering the rental office will be required to wear a face mask or face covering if they are not fully vaccinated.
  • All staff will be wearing gloves when handling equipment.
  • All bikes and equipment are sprayed down before and after each use.
  • There is a limit on the number of guests allowed into the tour office at one time.

 

Requirements

  • All guests must be able to ride a bicycle on their own (unless on attachments).
  • Standard bike baby seats for infants, double trailers for toddlers and tag-a-long attachments for young children are available at additional cost (arrangement details on E-Ticket).
  • No guest under the age of 18 will be provided a bike to ride without an adult over the age of 18 present on the tour.
  • You must bring one government-issued photo ID and a credit card in the same name, both to be held as a security deposit for the bicycle rentals during the tour.

About Rental Lengths

  • A 2-hour rental is available to start between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm from April through October and between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm from November through March.
  • A 4-hour rental is available to start between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm from April through October and between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm from November through March.
  • A DayPass rental is for the date of the rental; you may pick up your bike(s) anytime after 9:00 am and must return them before closing time that same day (8:00 pm from April through October or 5:00 pm from November through March.

  • Bike along the waterfront to the National Bike Path and towards the bridge
  • Bike along historic Fort Mason and over to scenic Crissy Fields to enjoy breathtaking views from this historic U. S. Army airfield
  • Cycle over the 1.7 miles of the Golden Gate Bridge, stopping along the way for all the must-take photos and amazing views
  • After crossing the bridge, bike down the Marin County coastline to the sunny town of Sausalito
  • Guests can either stay and explore Sausalito for a while on their own before returning to San Franciscio by ferry or take the next ferry back to Fisherman's Wharf - bikes must be returned to the tour office prior to its closing time (ferry ticket is not included in the tour price)
